The game is a mystery adventure. You are investigating what happened during a span of time through a series of interrogations. All of these interrogations you experience as gameplay flashbacks during which you will play as the interrogated person while they also provide narration.
During the game you will live trough an incident from multiple points of view. Almost every character you encounter in the flashbacks you will eventually get to play yourself and get to know their side of the story. The actions you choose in the flashbacks will affect the storyline and, ultimately, the ending.
The people you interrogate might lie, they might not remember things correctly: their subjective experiences will differ from the factual events. It is up to you to figure out what really happened and ”save the day”.
I am going for a Heavy Rain / Beyond: Two Souls / Life is Strange feel with this game. It will not have supernatural elements, but I want to create scenarios where you need to perform mundane tasks as well as go on amazing adventures.
I am so exited to finally start work on this detective game I have spent years dreaming of! For now I have a general idea of the main storyline and I have an outline for the opening act. This gives me enough to start working on the first location and all game systems. While working on this location I will also write the actual story of the game which it is still absolutely wide open. I for example have no idea who the main protagonist of the story will be! I am leaning towards having him be a police officer as he would be likely to interrogate people, but we will see!
